What we do
Everything a room needs.
Kitchens, bathrooms and flooring are what we're known for — designed and fitted by the same team under one project manager. We also take care of the carpentry and decorating that comes with almost every renovation, so you are not left bringing in separate trades to finish the job.

01 — Design, supply and full installation
Kitchens
From a straight swap of units to knocking through and starting again — planned properly, fitted precisely, finished cleanly.
We handle the whole kitchen: stripping out the old one, first-fix plumbing and electrics, plastering, units, worktops, splashbacks, appliances, flooring and the final decorating. You deal with one project manager throughout, and we will tell you honestly what a room can and cannot take before you commit to anything.

02 — Family bathrooms, en-suites and wet rooms
Bathrooms
Watertight, well-drained and built to last — including level-access showers and en-suites carved out of awkward spaces.
Bathrooms are where shortcuts show up fastest, so we do the unglamorous parts properly: falls, tanking, waterproof boarding and correctly bedded trays. We build family bathrooms, en-suites, downstairs cloakrooms and full wet rooms, and we are used to working around a household that still needs a shower in the morning.

03 — Engineered wood, LVT and tile
Flooring
Subfloors levelled, moisture checked, joints set out to the room — the reason a good floor still looks good in ten years.
Most flooring problems are subfloor problems. We survey what is underneath first, level and prime it, and set the boards or tiles out to the room so you are not left with a two-centimetre sliver against the main wall. Engineered oak, LVT, porcelain and laminate, supplied and fitted or fitted only.
- Subfloor survey and levelling
- Moisture and damp testing
- Engineered and solid wood
- Luxury vinyl tile (LVT)
- Porcelain and ceramic tiling
- Laminate
- Underfloor heating compatible builds
- Skirting, beading and thresholds
And while we're there
We also take care of the finishing trades.
Carpentry and decorating are not services we take on by themselves — they are part of almost every kitchen, bathroom or flooring project, so we handle them as standard rather than leaving you to find and coordinate separate tradespeople.

04 — Media walls, fitted storage, stairs and doors
Carpentry
Alcove units, media walls and internal doors, made to fit the house you actually have — offered alongside a kitchen, bathroom or flooring project.
- Fitted wardrobes and alcove units
- Media walls and shelving
- Wall panelling and staircases
- Internal and external door hanging
- Skirting, architrave and second fix

05 — Preparation-led interior and exterior finishes
Painting & Decorating
The finish is ninety percent preparation. Filled, sanded, caulked and cut in by hand — usually the final stage of a kitchen, bathroom or flooring project.
- Full preparation and making good
- Plaster repairs and skimming
- Interior walls, ceilings and woodwork
- Exterior masonry, render and timber
- Wallpaper hanging
How it runs
Four steps, no surprises.
Most renovation horror stories are communication problems, not building problems. Here is exactly how a job with us goes.
- 01
Conversation
Tell us what you are thinking. We will say straight away whether it is something we do well, roughly what it costs, and when we could start.
- 02
Survey & quote
We visit, measure, and look at what is behind the walls. You get an itemised written quote — not a number on the back of an envelope.
- 03
Plan & schedule
Materials ordered, trades booked, dates fixed. You get a running order so you know which week is noisy and which week is dusty.
- 04
Build
One project manager on your job from start to finish. Site swept at the end of every day, and we do not move on until you have signed it off.

Questions
Things people ask us.
Not answered here? Call 07909 444624 — you will get a straight answer, not a sales pitch.
How much does a kitchen or bathroom renovation cost?
It depends almost entirely on the size of the room and the specification you choose. As a guide, most of our bathrooms land between £6,000 and £15,000 and most kitchens between £12,000 and £35,000 including fitting. We give you an itemised written quote after a site visit so you can see exactly where the money goes.
How long will the work take?
A bathroom is typically two to four weeks and a kitchen four to six, depending on how much structural and first-fix work is involved. We give you a schedule before we start and tell you early if anything is going to move.
Do you supply the materials or do I?
Either. Plenty of clients want to choose their own tiles and sanitaryware, and that is fine. We can also supply everything through our trade accounts, which usually works out cheaper than retail and means one company is responsible if something arrives damaged.
Can I stay in the house while you work?
Almost always, yes. We sequence the work so you keep a working bathroom and kitchen for as much of the job as possible, and we protect the routes in and out with dust sheets and floor protection.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Harwell, Didcot, and work across Oxfordshire — including Didcot, Harwell, Wantage, Abingdon, Wallingford, Oxford and the surrounding villages. If you are just outside, ask anyway.
Are you insured?
Yes. Whitehorse Renovations Ltd carries public liability insurance, and we are happy to send you the certificate along with your quote.
Do you charge for quotes?
No. The site visit and the written quote are both free, with no obligation to go ahead.
